There are many other verses of assurance, however, these should express to the new believer they are secure in the hands of God.
If you prayed that prayer and really meant it with all your heart, the following scripture applies to you. " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
If you meant it with all your heart, You have a new start. "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God". 1 John 5:11 to 13
If you meant that prayer with all your heart God wants you to know for sure you’re going to spend eternity with him. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one." John 10:28,29,30 There is no greater security than that.
