HELP FIGHT EBOLA WITH PRAYERS AND SUPPORTS OUT OF WEST AFRICA

Dear Brethren,

Trust our awesome Lord is still in control; and as you continue to lift up us His throne of grace, we are still in pretty good healthy condition normally discharging our God-given duties. And we are very much thankful about your unweaving prayer support. God is good all the time; and all the time God is good!

As the Ebola pandemic gradually reach its alarming rate in West Africa, I thought it prudent to share with you our plan for humanitarian services in this crisis, and some other latest local developments currently unfolding relating to the spread of the Ebola virus in the sub-region, particularly in Liberia. More sanitation measures have been instituted by the government. Hands-washing facilities have been placed in many public places and homes, prices of sanitizers have dropped dramatically; and banking institutions have instituted lot of safety measures than ever before.

Last Wednesday evening, the President declared a State of Emergency for 90 days to work on more strategies on how to deal with the situation robustly; very badly almost all the health facilities in Liberia: hospitals, clinics, and health centers are closed down temporally, and 95% of health workers are staying away from job for fear of contracting the disease. Consequently, hunger and different kinds of sicknesses, besides Ebola, are killing people in homes which is causing high increase in death rate. Even the government has resolved cremation of bodies as a way of disposing them. The humanitarian crisis is gradually reaching to alarming proportion specially in most affected counties: Bomi, Monsterrado, and Lofa.

And with the latest development, we, as a church, have begun to fight against Ebola through fast and prayer; and providing sanitation materials( hand-washing buckets, sanitizers), rice (the nation's staple) and some counter medicines  for most disadvantaged Christian Brethren and some other communities dwellers.

Rice ready for distribution                            Needy people standing in long line to receive rice

Our evangelistic team is working alongside the distribution team. We have observed that lot of people are currently in tune to the gospel's message now than ever before in our country. Our witnessing for Christ is taking a positive dramatic dimension. Many people are now say "Only Jesus can solve this problem." I think this is time in our country for us to share Christ and the love of God with many people by sharing the message of the cross and giving needy people some humanitarian assistance if available.

Children and orphans lines receiving donation

As you can see in the pictures, we have already started this initiative as the Lord has already started providing funds. During our first donations, we able to distribute rice, hands-wash buckets, and small quantity of medicines among 450 people within our church vicinity and some community inhabitants; I tell you the people received the gifts with a grateful hearts and profoundly thanked the Lord for them. But that was just like a drop of water in the sea . Unfortunately many people went back home without receiving. We are sincerely praying that many people will join this great effort which has eternal rewards.
