Mission Verse: Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
Pro 11:30: The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Pro 11:31: Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
*Personal Testimony: I (Charlie) was born again in the spring of 1979 at 210 Hillview Dr., Jamestown, IN. I wrestled with eternal security until August of that year. The verse that used to give me eternal security was John 6:37 where the Lord said “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
I have served the Lord since my conversion in various capacities: Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, and Deacon. I was ordained by our Local Church in 2002.
I graduated from Heritage Baptist University in 1992 with a Masters Degree in Bible.
I have served with Amazing Grace Mission since 1990. I have been a State Director from 1996 until 2006. I am now a Regional Director covering three states: Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan.
I (Gloria) was raised as a preacher’s/Church planter’s kid. I received Christ as my personal Saviour in August, 1979, at Youth Camp.
Along with being an AGM missionary, I am a Christian Educator. I have a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I have taught on all grade levels. I am currently the Preschool/Kindergarten Director at our Church. I also teach part time on the college level.
I started with AGM in 1991. Before Charlie and I were married we spent many “dates” working at fairs. So I think AGM had a direct part in our falling “in love”, marrying, and serving the Lord together.
Testimonial of what it has meant to be a part of AGM: Amazing Grace Mission has been a integral part of my life for 17 years and as such has a been a tremendous blessing. I have seen the Lord do wondrous things; souls saved, Christians encouraged in their walk with the Lord, and people counseled who were considering suicide. We have had the pleasure of working with many great people; AGM Missionaries, pastors, and laymen/women, we thank the Lord for each one. Our greatest blessing is in seeing what the Lord can do through ordinary people, like and me, and we give Him all the credit for the souls that have been saved and encouraged.
A Note from Charlie to Pastors:
Dear Pastor, My name is Charlie Huges. My wife, Gloria and I surrendered to fulltime service with Amazing Grace Mission in May of 2002. We are presently trying to raise support for our ministry and are representing the ministry in local, independent, Baptist Churches. We would appreciate your consideration of our ministry. (Click Here) to read letters of recommendation.
I am a graduate of Heritage Baptist University with a Masters Degree in Bible and I am Regional Director of Amazing Grace Mission. My wife Glorida is also a graduate of Heritage with a Masters Degree in Education and she is the Director of the preschool and kindergarden at our church.
I have been associated with Amazing Grace Mission since 1990. During the early years I worked with Norris Collier, pastor of "The Baptist Church," in Indianapolis, Tn. Norris and I worked at the Marion County and Indiana State Fairs together for several years. Since that time we have added other fairs and farm shows to our schedule. This year it is our hope to add the "Covered Bridge Festival" in Rockville, Tn., to our schedule as well as many others. We will also work fairs and farm shows in Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio as needed to round out our schedule. Brownsburg Baptist Church is our home church and is located at 1485 East Main Street, Brownsburg, IN. Michael Abbott is our Pastor.
Amazing Grace Mission was founded by Dr. James Gardner; thirty-six years ago. Dr. Gardner started the ministry in Indiana and has expanded the ministry to the entire U.S. Our purpose is to win souls to Christ and channel them into local independent Baptist Churches. We had over 1050 conversions in the state of Indiana last year. AGM has over 150 missionaires traveling in the United States and around the world. We us a Smile Booklet at fairs and farm shows. Ministry wide we will use more than 2 million of these small tracts each year. We also use many other tracts, but the little smile booklet is the one that is he most readily received. Amazing Grace Mission also has a Mail Box Club that is used for discipleship.
Thank you for your consideration of our ministry.
God Bless,
Charlie Hughes
