Opening Day At The Big E

This year we are very blessed to have plenty of experienced AGM workers helping at the Big “E.”  As preparations were made way back in January for working this, our 7th year at this event, we only had at that time one other couple signed up to help.  We have worked it before with only one other couple, but the days get long working 17 days straight.  Years ago, two men (Roger Olson & Norm Ericson) worked the full 17 days at 12 hours a day by themselves…Wow!.. I don’t know how they did it.  So, to say the least we are very grateful to have several couples (much more than we thought we would have) helping this year which allows us to work 4 hour shifts, making it nice because with prep and travel time each day is still about 6 hours.

The Lord blessed us to be able to harvest some fruit today.  Both Carol and I had some really good opportunities to share with people the Lord had prepared.  The picture to the left shows Carol praying with 42 year-old Timothy who accepted Christ as Saviour, and expressed a desire to attend church and have a church visit.  It’s always special when they have an immediate desire to start worshiping God by attending church.  The picture to the right is of Glen witnessing to a young couple (David & Maryssa) who both accepted the Lord (see testimonies below), and were very very appreciative for us being there to share with them the truth of the Word of God in a way they had never seen it before.  Many of the people we witness to will probably never attend a true Bible teaching church on their own, so AGM workers may be the only opportunity they will ever have to have someone sit with them and personally share from the Word of God.  What a privilege the Lord has given us to be able share with these folks.

Timothy (42), West Suffield, CT -  I have let myself believe that Jesus gave His life for all of my sins.

Mary (48), Stawsbury, CT – I just opened my heart further to believe that Jesus died for us and that I am 100% sure of being saved.

David (22), Waterbury, CT – After my prayer, I felt 100% positive that I will see the Lord in Heaven.  Lord, thank Glen and bless him for helping me.  Amen!

Maryssa (20), Waterbury, CT – I believe that by what I just did, I will be saved and accepted into the kingdom of Heaven the day Jesus calls me home.  God Bless!   Keep the faith!

Brocque (14), Johnston, RI – I have gotten right with God.  I have accepted His wonderful gift and have put my faith in Him.

Derek (16), Middletown, CT – I am sure I am going to heaven because I believe in Jesus, and I believe that he died for us.

Ayesha (16), Bloomfield, CT – I feel like I became a new person.

Betsy and I just watched both the videos. She wished she saw MeMaw and PaPaw a little more, but this was the sweetest thing, while we were watching she asked, "Are MeMaw and PaPaw telling people about Jesus?" I said yes, and she said, "I wish I could do that." I explained as best I could in 3 year old terms how she could do that and she said she wanted to pray for her family. She told me to close my eyes and she prayed for her family including MeMaw and PaPaw. She asked God to keep you healthy and safe. There were other things, too but this was the gist of it. I did not prompt her, she is praying for you on her own.
